First Date - Valley Guy meets NY Gal for Thai Food

William Reser and Brittany Axworthy met online in March of 2022 and after exchanging messages about their lives, cats etc.. they followed up with phone calls and decided to meet in person.

Their first date was at a small Thai restaurant in Hollywood and after sparkling conversation and congruent chemistry, not wanting the night to end they continued on to a Star Wars Cantina and a 70s themed bar where they entered through a refrigerator.

Brittany- "He was just so easy to talk to and we had so much in common and... he was so tall."

William- “I could tell almost immediately that she wasn’t a serial killer, which was great.”

At the end of the night, Will walked Britt to her door, hugged her goodnight and whispered that he had a huge crush on her. Britt smiled and silently thought the same.

Our relationship - Adventures, Hikes...Camping?

More dates followed... adventures, hikes, camping in the wilderness, meeting friends and family members. On their first trip together to Anza-Borrego with a group of dear friends, the couple made it official when Britt nervously asked Will to be her boyfriend.

Brittany- "I was wondering where this relationship was going and if we would ever make it official?

William- “I thought we were already official??”

As they got closer and closer, Will and Britt had the opportunity to travel together to many places like New York, North Carolina, Utah, Montana, Mexico, England, Scotland and finally Japan.

With Nora's approval, they moved in together at the beginning of 2024.

Engagement - Arigatou Japan

Will did a fantastic job of hiding his plan to pop the question. Thanks to Britt’s lovely sister Julianna, Will was able to pick out the perfect ring with Britt being none the wiser. Credit also goes to a few of Britt’s friends who helped him pick out exactly what she wanted.

Will planned to pop the question in Kanazawa, a medium-sized town on the north shore of Honshu (Japan) away from the crowds and bustle of the larger cities they visited on their trip. He knew he wanted to propose at Kenroku-en garden, one of the three great gardens of Japan. Admittedly nervous, Will waited for the perfect time and place to make a move. Finally, they arrived at the Kaiseki Pagoda, a four meter tall pagoda rumored to have been donated to the Maeda Clan by the legendary warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi in the 16th century. The setting was idyllic, with a bridge that went out to a small islet in the middle of the pond and a rushing waterfall behind the pagoda. Will dropped to one knee and told Britt that she was his everything and he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. After asking “the question” Britt immediately asked “are you serious?” ... Will was definitely serious.

Together, we've discovered that the best adventures are the ones we create with each other and we feel so grateful for our partnership. Please join us this September as we say "I do" and kick off the next phase of our life together in one of our favorite places.
